If PBS sees a pattern of time outs and no responses they will suspend the account.

Have you tried PMing them and asking whats up? Maybe you just hit a newbie that doesn't know what to do.

It is frustrating knowing someone has the book you want and is sort of willing but its not happening.  I just had this happen with someone and she pm'd me to explain she'd been working very long hours, etc.   I let her know that's fine, I still want it etc.   But ultimately she pm'd again last week that she just couldnt' get it mailed.  I guess sometimes life truly does get in the way.... but I really wanted that book (selfish me).

Maybe it's summer time that makes it harder.  I know school here goes back soon so maybe that helps some people.  Hopefully you'll hear from her soon.

This happened to me four times-same member, same book. PBS was at last informed and I think she dropped her membership. I got the book form someone else and have since mailed it on.

Frustrating, because, if you are no. 1 on wl, you will get the same offered book over and over.

I've had people who had my WL book offered to me, and realized that they couldn't handle PBS along with their busy lives, too.  I guess since I'm addicted to PBS, I can't conceive of it.  I think I'd put my account on hold and keep my membership open in case I had some time on my hands at one point.

One of my wishlisted titles came up. I approved the request, the other member timed out on responding. It came up again, same thing. The THIRD time it triggered my wishlist, the other member responded by saying that the title "didn't meet requestor conditions"!

My requestor conditions are quite simple. I won't accept a book that doesn't meet the requirements of the club for trading. THAT"S IT!

I'm getting angry at being told that wish listed books don't meet my specifications! It's gotten bad enough (I just got another one today!) that I'm really rethinking whether it's worth the trouble to do this. If someone has a problem with a trade they got from me, I bend over backwards to make sure they're happy. I've even returned credits when others were't satisfied. I don't have a problem with that. HOWEVER,  I"M TIRED of people turning me down for books that I want because they don't meet club specifications.

Meanwhile. my daughter is bombarded with books that have damage in one way or another. One long term member actually told mher that she could file all the complaints she wanted, that they were a contributor to the club and were willing to bet that the club would side with them because they had made a financial contribution.

The honor system doesn't work when so many members are without honor.

Is there nothing that can be done to correct this?

I"M TIRED of people turning me down for books that I want because they don't meet club specifications. - Often times the book will meet PBS requirements, some people just refuse to send books to people with RCs that restate the site rules or just RCs in general.

Please make sure that your daughter has send that kind of response in to site admin using the Contact Us link. I am sure that they would be very displeased with a member using that kind of defense.  The site doesn't get involved in individual disputes, but they also won't like someone making it sound like they can be bought off.

That should be reported to the PBS Team, for the record.  I don't think PBS puts profit above principle. :-)

Cheers,
