I have a question about how author's last names are listed. I posted several books by Robert van Gulik. On my bookshelf, most are listed with the "G's" - van Gulik.  Another, though, is listed with the "V's" as Van Gulik. On the Stop You're Killing Me site, he is listed with the "V's." Also in the library. So - how would someone who wants to look up books by him spell his name when he or she perused this site? Just curious.    M'ann

I know I have a few on either TBR, RL, etc that have three names (Jill Paton Walsh, ex). Most of her books are under "W" but there is a stray that is in the "Ps".  It all has to do with the database PBS leases. I think if they search under "V" in your case most would show up.

Charlie is right about the database.  However, some of the variations are created when people input books manually.
