This beautiful book is nicely laid out and easy to use. It's based on a manuscript written at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, but the meanings are derived from archetypal and ageless images and people really still work the same way inside. It sees dreams not as prognostications, but a way your brain is working out of the events in our lives, a way to understand what you're going through. This was my sister's book and she really used it to help her sort her thoughts. Sometimes when you have a bizarre dream you need a little help trying to figure out what was going on.
This gives the reader a Tarot card-like interpretation of symbols that may appear in dreams... Not what I was looking for, but interesting reading.
SUPER BOOK! 5 Stars! *****
I loved this book from my teen years. Just a fun way to see what your dreams mean. Because the book was written in the late 19th century, there are some subjects not covered so it can be annoying. Overall, its very fun.
This is an expansive book and the illustrations are beautiful. I feel though that it is a "gloom and doom" dream interpretation. The majority of the books dream symbols are not a good outlook for the dreamer, always something bad will happen outlook. I am putting my copy at a yard sale and maybe someone else will want it as I don't. I should have stuck to the reviews of this book, I wanted another dream dictionary to use and I thought this would be good. I am giving it 3 stars because of the extent of the symbols and the illustrations.
Too good to pass up! This book is beautifully color illustrated and in perfect condition.
