Another horse mystery by Dick Francis. This one is set around the political field involving a father and his son Ben who's only goal in life is to ride race horses. Ben returns to his father's house and becomes part of Dad's political rise to office, while giving his father the appearance of being the family man that he wants. Ben also helps keep Dad alive from someone with a ax to grind. Enjoyable and fun reading and highly recommended.

Loved this book! It's a bit different from Dick Francis' usual thrillers, in that his main character, Benedict, is 18 years old when the story starts. It's fascinating seeing this story--always written in first person--from a teenager's point of view, and watching him grow up as the story progresses. Very well done, as always. Dick Francis is a master storyteller!
classic Dick Francis. Love the hero, hate the bad guy. A good, fast, action-filled read.
Dick Francis writes about the most courageous wonderful heros, not idiots, just good people who work hard to get out of bad situations. His heros are so likable and you would just enjoy having them for friends. I've read everyone of his books, some many times over.
I enjoy all of Dick Francis' books.
