I read that the other day, Phoenix.  It'd be about 20 pages long, but I've considered printing it to keep with my other writing materials.

Thank you, thank you. I always forget to do that. . .

I especially enjoy Phillip Pullman's answer. . . and the fact that Roddy Doyle's #1 flatly contradicts Colm Toibin's #7 (and I never would have thought of doing either!). . . and Will Self's #10 is awesome. But I've gotta say, Ian Rankin's brevity appealed to me most. . . and that wouldn't take much paper and ink to print out and post above my desk. . . but I've got windows above my desk now, and I think I prefer them to even the most inspiring of words. :)
