This blog article is way too long for me to quote here, but I want to make you aware of it. Jane from Dear Author blog has been a proponent of digital media for some time and is very savvy and not at all mealy-mouthed about pros and cons of ereaders. I think most newbies and most of the rest of us would benefit from reading this blog post: http://dearauthor.com/wordpress/2011/01/09/10-tips-for-your-new-ebook-reader/
It's a safe place, no crapware or spyware will be auto-installed on your computer or that kind of thing. She has tutorials on Calibre, digital lending, and other topics.
If you go browsing around that blog generally, reading other articles there, you're going to find that occasionally there will be a review of erotica or an LGBT or BDSM book. If that kind of thing is going to make you uncomfortable, then don't go browsing around, although those articles are clearly marked as such. It's a small percentage of what is posted there, but some folks are pretty sensitive about this kind of thing for whatever reason, so I'll point out that this is not a conservative Christian fiction blog, okay?
