That was the biggest draw for me too Nancy!

That and no longer having an office so cluttered with books that everyone (self included) was afraid to venture in!

Hope you had a fantastic trip! Spain! I am so jealous! smiley

Im seriously considering only bringing 1 personal book and a couple swap books for the PBS cruise. The rest on my kindle or IPAD (I will have one by then). I still don't feel right traveling without a paper book. What if....what if...gotta have a contingency!

I'm still blown away by this concept that I've got this whole library in my hands.  Technology is awesome!

Nancy ~ Beautiful. I wish I could take a vacation by myself. Just once. smiley Glad to hear you had a great time!

LOL Kathy! I am the same way! If Im going somewhere long enough to take a book, I take a hard copy as well as my Nook. Just in case!

Melody ~ I feel the same way. I still get giddy sometimes when I realize I don't even have to leave my home to buy a book anymore. Or wait for it to be delivered!

I'm not a huge electronics guru (that would be my husband), but this is one piece of technology I am so glad I "got with the times" on!

Nancy, nice!!

that's the main reason i went ahead and got the Kindle - so that the next time i go on vacation for a week i don't have to bring 12 books with me.  of course, the starting to figure out a month in advance what i want to read on vacation will probably still continue, so i can make sure i'm stocked ahead of time.  though i did get the 3G Kindle so i can probably do some instant shopping should i happen to run out anyway!

with paper books i've bounced back and forth between bringing what i think is just barely enough and being short, and bringing what seems maybe one extra book and bringing home 4 unread.  while DH might not have liked me filling the bottom of one suitcase with books, he sure hated stopping every time we went anywhere there might have been books so i could shop when i didn't bring enough.  [thank goodness for FOL racks at library branches.]

Actually right now I'm completely thrilled that I will get the newest J.D. Robb the morning it comes out before I even wake up ...also after only 2 weeks already have 57 books on there..not counting the ones from the library...nor did I have to purchase all of 'em.  And thinking back to my last vacation..I had brought at least 3 or 4 paperbacks w/ me to a waterpark...lol not that I'ld bring my nook anywhere close to that much water but it would still do better then those paperbacks did lol
