I've talked to a few people and we decided to start a challenge, similar to other threads.

Here are some choices (if you have one please tell me and I'll add it to the list).

TBR Challenge (books you already own in your TBR- Yes you can buy them too in the future and add them to this challenge)

New To Me Authors (Authors you have never read before)

Series Challenge (pick 1 or more series and read all books in that series)

Debut Author Challenge (this is the author's first YA book published in the year 2010)

Genre Challenge (Pick a Genre, read books from that genre)

Pick An Author Challenge (Read all YA books from that author)

Recent New Releases Challenge (Challenge yourself to read so many new releases each month- for example 2 books that come out in January for January)

Older New Releases Challenge (within last year)

YA published before 1950

Newberry Award Winner (books that have won)

Historical YA (historical reads)

YA with emphasis on middle school more than the older teen (maybe 9-12 yr olds)

General YA (for those of who who want to do this as a second challenge-place to record books that don't fit into others)

Printz award category

Each Person should also post and start their lists and add to the lists as time passes.

However many you want. You can choose a catergory and read as many in it as you want. For example, I choose 3 catergories and added the books I've already read since January 1st and than add to it all year.

I think a Printz award category would be good to have, too, as that's specifically for YA books (Newbery is for younger books, generally).

ETA: I'll join in. I'll post my list later/in a few days.

I agree about Printz books.  Newbery can (and often does!) include YA books, but they tend to be for the younger end of it.  Printz honors the entire field of YAs.

(I'd have both, not one or the other, as categories.)

ETA: I saw that the Printz category was added. :)
