This thread is for the 2010 Christian Fiction Challenge beginning January 1, 2010, and is for your LISTS ONLY.  Anyone can join in at any time (after Jan 1 of course)

In order to successfully complete the challenge, you will need to choose 12 categories out of the 16 categories listed below.  For those of you who want to do all 16, that is wonderful and highly recommended!  I will try myself, but I am only committing to 12 at the moment. A couple of the categories may be difficult to find appropriate books, which is another reason I thought choices might be better.  Also, since this is my first time doing this, I thought doing it this way would be better.

I found a lot of choices by going to amazon.com and searching for "Christian mysteries," Christian historical fiction," "Christian science fiction," etc and was able to find a lot of choices.  A lot of what I found was already on my TBR, it was just a matter of defining the genre for them.

The challenge also includes a Bonus category, and it is your choice whether or not you do that one.

Also, you can fill in your lists before the challenge starts, or you can fill it in as you go along.  And, of course, you can change your lists up as time goes along too.  You are not locked into your choices if you make them now.

UPDATE:  Since some of you may come up with other great ideas for categories, as Deborah did with the YA category in the main thread,  I suggest that instead of continually trying to add to the original list, you can add categories to your own existing list.  In order to successfully complete the challenge though, you need to read something out of at least 12 of the 16 categories below.  Anything more than those 12 is just icing on the cake.  Also, if you add a category to your own list, please tell us about it in the main thread, because who knows, someone may want to challenge themselves further with your additional category as well.  Make sense?  Another thing, this is supposed to make you read more Christian novels, so whatever works for you is the best way for you to do it.  :)

1.  Read a New to You Author

2.  Read any book by your favorite Christian author

3.  Read the next book in a series already started

4.  Start a New Series

11.  Read a Biblical fiction

I'm not a fast reader & extremely busy but we'll see how this goes. I did the 2009 Reading Challenge in the Games forum this year & it really kept me going!  I plan to do that one again in 2010 too.  I think this one will prompt me to get more serious about Christian fiction, as I already read a lot of Christian nonfiction!  Thanks for getting this started!  I'll be adding my titles as I finish a category.
