I was wondering if anyone is good at making banners for our cozy challenge? I am terrible at it. Otherwise I may beg Jeanne for a favor.

Oooh, harder than last time.  At least we have a year though.  I'm reading the last book for this year's challenge right now--but we won't count the bonus,  I'm way behind there--my goal is to do half of the states.  Do we copy and paste the challenge in this thread, or is another one going to be set up just for this purpose?

Sorry for the dumb dumb question.  Guess I need my second cup of tea to get the brain functioning and look before I speak.

Hi Everyone, I'm going to try the cozy challenge next year but I had a question.

How do you define a cozy?

For example, I thought cozies didn't have police as main characters but I noticed the occupation category included them.

My problem is that I always forget to update my list.  Way behind on the 2014 challenge now.

Lisa,

Here is a good definition from Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cozy_mystery

I think of cozies as light hearted not a lot of blood and guts or sex. So you can stretch the definition a lot

Here is a good source for mysteries too http://www.sldirectory.com/libsf/booksf/mystery/topic.html

Let me know if you have questions.

I have so many cozy mystery series that I have never read that are on my TBR pile. This challenge will help so much getting me to finally reading them. It's fun just getting the books ready for January.

On a side note, this morning I went with my DH to his doctor's office with a Christmas cozy book to read for the 6 month challenge. The office was full of people already waiting, so I thought hmmm I will get to read a lot before DH goes in. DH signed in, I read two paragraphs and he got called in. LOL, the others must have been waiting for one of the other 3 doctors!
