It's on my WL also......

I started a new series by Mary Stanton.  I read the first book Defending Angels and it just wasnt my thing.....so I've posted the series and already mailed them out.......I liked the setting:  Savannah and Tybee Island but the first book was just wierd (to me)......I'm learning to let go of books without reading them if I don't really enjoy them.......too many books not enough time so I'm accepting the fact I need to read the ones I enjoy the most.

I finished Pudding up with Murder. It was more romance (But not too hot) than you see in most cozies.  I think she can do a lot with series in the future.

I finished Dangling by a Thread by Lea Wait. It was good, but I liked the early ones better. I miss the needle point discussions. Love the new kittens though.

I finished Chime and Punishment (A Clock Shop Mystery) :: Julianne Holmes yesterday. This is becoming one of my favorite series. I enjoy all of the characters and how they come together to help each other out. I gave it 5 stars but did notice that others appararently didn't like it as much based on the star ratings when I went to rate it.

I just finished The Fine Art of Murder by Emily Barnes. I quite enjoyed it. The main character, Kathy Sullivan, Is a retired Police Chief. Good to see a strong older character in the lead of cozy. I put book 2 in my WL.

I finally started reading the Tonya Kappes Southern Ghost series; got through the first two.  Good read.  It was interesting to find her Grandmother's last name is Payne....

I'm reading hit and miss right now.......November and December hitting the Christmas books so less cozies for a couple months......I have two stacks of my read next books that include one long series I havent started, books to finish two other series, then some odds and ends.  I wanted to read them for October but they may still be sitting there for January.

I'm trying to simplify my life a bit (I know I'm retired why do I need to?)  I just need less things I feel I have to do.......I may not keep up with next year's cozy challenge...but I"ll still be around.......and it's hard for me to resist challenges, so who knows.

I am reading a really good cozy

Murder in G Major by Alexia Gordon  It won Lefty award for debut Mystery and was a finalist for the Agatha award.

Strong woman main character and set in Ireland. she is head of a music department at private school. Give this one a try it is a bit different. Just put book 2 on my WL

I'm currently reading Bad Housekeeping by Mia Chance and enjoying it quite a bit. Great-Aunt Effie is a hoot but Agnes is too focused on her weight and breakup with her boyfriend to have much of a backbone. However, I'm enjoying the story so far.

I also just finished Murder at an Irish Wedding by Carlene O'Connor. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first in the series. I found the main character rather annoying this time around.

Just wondering if anyone would like a Cozy mystery challenge for 2018. I don't mind doing one or if someone else wants to take over that is good too.

Though I don't often complete them I do enjoy the challenges. They get me to look at books I might never have considered before.

With a 2018 challenge, I would enjoy the discussion portion.  I'll try to complete the challenge but may not be as dedicated to entering all my books I read....

Just finished reading Death Overdue by Allison Brook.  Good debut cozy, I enjoyed the main characters quite a bit.  Our MC works as an event and program planner in her local library in a small town in Connecticut, and the library sounds wonderful.  It was a fun mystery to read during the autumn as it takes place from before Halloween until after Thanksgiving.  Will read the next in this series!

How about library!  There are many cozies about libraries, including the newest one LecClier mentioned.

Read a cozy related to what ever Holiday is in a particular month.  Ex Feb - a book that references a president or a ground hog.

How about one where it is at least #4 in a series (or #3, or something like that; the number is not that important.) For the categories this year, I started several  new series and I would like to be encouraged to keep going in some of them.

Alice I like all the ideas from Janice and Margaret.  I was going to suggest , along the line of the library theme, that there is a category for books with pictures of books on the cover.

Margaret i like the idea of reading further into a series.  Seems i get through books 1 & 2 often enough, but don’t get to 3,4,5, etc.  I need incentive to get to those.
