2017 Historical Mystery Challenge

This historical mystery challenge is very simple read books in as many categories as you can. If there is a category that you really, read as many books as you like in that category (ies). It is nice to share what we are reading and introduce all of us to new authors and books. This Challenge will start January 1, 2017

  1. Famous Women – Read a historical mystery that main character or supporting character is a famous woman.
  2. BC- Read a historical mystery set before the birth of Christ.
  3. Travel to a Different Country -Read at least 3 historical mysteries set in 3 different countries (You may want to add to this one if you enjoy reading mysteries set in different countries) You may count Scotland, Wales, Britain and Ireland as different countries depend on time period they were separate countries
  4. War- Read a historical Mystery set during a war (any time or country)
  5. Healers- Read a historical mystery with some sort of healer in it, doctor, medicine man, nurse etc
  6. 1900’s – Read a book set between 1900 and 1967 – (Often Historical fictions is defined as be set at least 50 years in the past.
  7. Shiny New – Read a historical mystery released for the first time in 2017.
  8. Nice to Meet You- Read a historical mystery by a new to you author
  9. Royalty- Read a historical mystery that a some type of royalty (royal family, emperor, Tsar, etc) is the main character or supporting character
  10. Revolution- Read a historical Mystery set during a Revolution (Industrial, American, French Russion etc)
  11. Make up your own Category—Make up your own category and maybe we can use in the 2018 challenge

Bonus- Read historical mysteries set in different states. Let see if anyone can read one from all 50 States.

2017 Historical Mystery Challenge

This historical mystery challenge is very simple read books in as many categories as you can. If there is a category that you really, read as many books as you like in that category (ies). It is nice to share what we are reading and introduce all of us to new authors and books. This Challenge will start January 1, 2017

  1. Famous Women – Read a historical mystery that main character or supporting character is a famous woman.
  2. BC- Read a historical mystery set before the birth of Christ.  Conspirata by Robert Harris 7/14/17
  3. Travel to a Different Country -Read at least 3 historical mysteries set in 3 different countries (You may want to add to this one if you enjoy reading mysteries set in different countries) You may count Scotland, Wales, Britain and Ireland as different countries depend on time period they were separate countries  A.  As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust by Alan Bradley 4/16/17 Canada,  B. The Poisoned Pilgrim by Oliver Potzsch 4/29/17 Germany  C. Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mew'd by Alan Bradley 5/23/17 England
