I know that Geri was getting a bit burned out with the Challenge, so I asked her if she would like me to put it together for next year. She graciously accepted. I have it all put together, with medal levels as in last year. Lots of what I believe are new categories. I'll be posting it on or about December 1 so that everyone can start combing through their TBRs to see what they have on hand, and look for other titles they may be missing.

I try it every year and seem to fall very short.  I'll give it a try again.

Yay!  I like challenges.  This time of year, I look back and see what all I read.

Mary P. - I JUST stuck a few banners in the monthly reading thread for Geri to look at and THEN I read this post!!! See if you like any of them or if someone else would rather have a hand at doing this:

Can you all see these banners?  It might depend on your browser but I know that some can't see them over in the HF forum>

Mary --- I was a miserable failure this year --- just too much going on --- living with my mother, moving, etc. etc.  Perhaps the coming year will bear more fruit!!!  Good on you for taking on the chore.  Will be interested to see your categories.

Thank you, Mary, for taking this on! I will probably do this again next year, I try to get the main categories done but don't worry much about the bonus ones. I also write myself a 50-book challenge each year (well, 2017 will be the third annual one) that crosses genres and has a little bit of everything. I've still got 10 books left in that one to finish for this year, so I need to get hopping! It's fun though, I've discovered some really interesting reads and authors by challenging myself to read stuff I wouldn't normally read.

Darn phone, lost my comment.

I do personal challenges too.  I have a couple that cross genres and gets me to read things I don't normally read.

Jeanne, I don't know what you did but it sure was easy for me to copy those banners for the challenges.  Thank you!

I was bannerless all year since I was such a failure!!!  Perhaps this year if I add a banner it will inspire me!!  Of course, with some folks completing the challenge in February and then going on for 3 more times (no names mentioned --- hee hee), it takes a hearty soul to keep up!!!

Becky what you have to do is stay well,  Not renovate a house and your mom and aunt must stay well too!  Marla and I only did that once, complete the challenge four times.  This year Mary and Marla finished before me.

Jeanne - I see 3 banners. The first one is the one I like best and will use myself. It's nice giving everyone a choice. Thanks.

The Challenge will post on Cyber Monday. Seems logical since we all get all or most of our books via the internet.

Feel free to post questions if you are having difficulty finding books in certain categories. Many can be found using stopyourekillingme.com. Others may be found by using the Keyword search in PBS, and limiting responses to Mystery/Thriller/Suspense genre.

Mary, great job!

I checked my Kindle list of books and though I have a shark, a guilty sea and a chicken among the titles I don't have a single book that qualifies in any category!  Shopping, shopping!

I swore I was going to take a year off from any challenges, but, then.....  You know how it goes.  It will definitely be a CHALLENGE this year!!!  So, far have only found one on my TBR pile.  Did find a "sparrow" but that doesn't count.  laugh

Instead of challenges, I was going to work on getting current with the many series I'm reading; go back and figure out what series I started and then somehow forgot about; and, starting some new series I have been meaning to read.  We'll see how it goes.
