Glad I didn't keep waiting for a response and went ahead and contacted the PBS Team to cancel transaction since I didn't have the book.

I had a book with a long WL, not sure what happened with it but, I didn't have it to send.  By the third person I had sent them a PM to accept the book so I could cancel and they wouldn't lose their place in line...I didn't get a response until now 22 days after the fact.  The account was never put on Vacation hold...

Hm.  That sounds odd.  The request should have timed out on them after 48 hours, vacation or no vacation.

If you asked R&R to cancel the transaction during that 48 hours and they did, I'm not sure why the other member would send a response at all - I doubt I would have bothered if the request had already been canceled by the time I saw your PM, whether it was during the 48 hours or after 22 days.  Perhaps they were bored.

Hmm. That's odd.  Like Bret said it's supposed to time out after 48hrs if it isn't accepted.

well, yeah the book would have timed out if I hadn't of gotten the PBS team to cancel it...but, this person said..something to the affect that she was sorry she couldn't accept the book so I could cancel but, it wasn't available anymore...

Guess my point is to remind folks if they aren't going to be accessing their account please please please put it on hold.
