Have you read this? My Christian bookstore didn't have The Last Sin Eater, so I had to put it on order. So I brought home 23 Minutes in Hell. I've read the first chapter. I'm not sure I believe the author yet. There are a bunch of people wishing for this book, so it must hold something for some people.

If you've read it, what did you think?

Yes, I've read it and I don't recommend reading it at night!  I also watched his interview on TBN.  Another book that you may want to read is A Divine Revelation of Hell by Mary Kay Baxter.  Awesome read, will change how you feel about being anything but an on fire Christian for the Lord!

I've read "23 minutes in Hell" and "A Divine Revelation of Hell".  Both are good books.  I know it may seem fake, or sensationalized, but I just figure that I don't know the mind of God, and He very well could have used this extreme to reach this person.  In any case, it really makes you think and reevaluate your relationship with Christ.

Glad to hear it! I have only read the first chapter (The Cell) so haven't really gotten into anything yet.  I will go check into A devine Revelation of Hell. Thanks for the rec.

I read a book that sounds similar (near death experiences that went badly, I'm guessing) called My Descent Into Death.  I found his initial experience compelling and I found the ending to be....well, odd.  Not to ruin the ending or anything, but he predicts a world of mental communication in a telekenesis sort of way and other off the wall futuristic visions.  I take all such books with a grain of salt, but I must admit that the hell to salvation part was interesting.

Amy, that does sound a bit odd.  I don't remember the other two books mentioned being anything like that.

Ooooops !!!  I had to re-read the title. You said "23 Minutes in Hell" and I was thinking of "90 Minutes in Heaven".

I have not read "23 Minutes in Hell" but was about to comment thinking that I had.

I did read "90 Minutes in Heaven" and thought it was a very encouraging book. Only a fraction of it was about his experience in Heaven. Most of it was about how the Lord worked in his life afterwards.

It was good and bad. There were parts so horrific in my mind that it woke me up at night. I hesistate to make my next comment because I've learned that it's selfish of me, not humble enough, to judge the method of delivery, but I didn't like the writing style. It wasn't written like a book so much as a mumble jumble of bible verses thrown into paragraphs. Writing it as a bunch of bible verses made it less human....less believable?....less something. I can't quite pin it down. Kind of like a 2 year old that can recite all the presidents by heart. Impressive, but where's the meat of it?

It was creepy and eye-opening but I am not sure how I feel about it overall.

It was a quick read, though. I am going to post it soon, so someone else can decide for themselves.

Hi again Rosey Posey (Michelle P)

How do you want to be addressed ?  Should I say Rosey Posey or Michelle ?

Thanks for your comments about the book.

I never like reading disturbing books so thanks for the heads up that there was a "creepy" element to it.  I'm sorry it woke you up at night. That's one I'll pass on.

I started reading Amityville Horror when I was in high school . It gave me terrible nightmares and I don't read "Satanic"

type books any more!

Sherry,

I have read this book, it is indeed a very frightening book and I believe it to be true..
I belong to the Womens Missionary Union Group in my church and after reading it , we decided
buy enough copies to do all read it and do group study on it, the things writtien in this book are
detailed and real, that it makes you want to go out and help anyone you can find God and assure
their place in heaven..  The book acurately describes all the things that bible says hell is like and
what will happen to people if they are left out of heaven someday..  I cried, because we don't know
the hearts of loved ones who are already gone and were so angry and bitter at the world when their
their time was up, only God and they know their hearts.. and all we can do is pray and try to help those
still here... God Bless
but  it's a book worth reading...
