This is definitely a case of a fine illustrator who ought to have found a fine author to write the book. The pictures are very charming, but the story is completely unsuitable. It could be a Bearenstain Bears story, it's so annoyingly boring, and certainly the idea of a bunch of strange little monsters being scared by the idea of monsters is a little strange. I had a postcard of one of the characters on my wall for many years, and I always wondered what the book it came from was like. Now, frankly, I kind of wish I didn't know.
