I have quite a collection of books with activity suggestions for family fun and small children - and this one strikes me as the most helpful. Its a compact little bundle, with one activity described in detail on every page. It is NOT chock full of 'filler or quasi-ideas' like 'nap time' or 'peek-a-boo', as many books of this genre are. Perfect size for a back pack, purse or diaper bag - for daytrips or bringing to the grandparent's house (I find my parents can use a creativity boost - they reach for Disney before considering more engaging activities that make true quality time). Highly recommended - I can all but guarantee your satisfaction.

I remember my mother getting this book when I was in pre-school, to give her some ideas of activities to do with me and my Kindergarten aged brother. It has some very imaginative ideas, which little kids are virtually guaranteed to enjoy. Of course, they'll grow out of it eventually, but in the meantime it's well worth looking at.

Most of the activities listed are pretty basic, with finger plays and other games, but some are involved and require imagination. My mom gave me this when I had my first child and I really liked doing a lot of the things listed. My daughter liked the finger plays, and I appreciated some face time with her, instead of having her glued to the tube all the time. A good resource for parents, grandparents, teachers, caregivers, etc.

Terrific book of it's kind. Lots of GREAT ideas: a "keeper" & most useful when you are interested in enriching your young child's life with tv-free activies.

Lots of REALLY fun activities of all different types. Listed much like recipes, each activity tells you how easy/hard it will be to do and any items you will need to do it. Good for toddlers thru Jr. High.

This book has given me and my children several hours of creative fun that has had us tying heart strings and enjoying our time together.
It works wonderfully for babysitting, too! The children can't wait to tell their parents what they did while they were gone, and how much fun they had with their babysitter.
