I picked up a hardback copy of the above book, but it doesn't have the cards attached. Are the cards an integral part of being able to read/play? the book? There are 10 wishers for the book, and I'd like to post it, but would have a problem if the cards are needed. Thanks for any help on this. Pat

The rules say that anything that 'came with' the book that is part of using the book needs to be included in a swap. ( as with some children's books that come with a piece of jewelry, the item isn't necessary to 'use' the book, so  it doesn't have to be sent with the swapped book.)  However, per discussion in the forums be aware that many of those items (like cards) disqualify the item for media mail postage.

I think it's postable without the cards.

I don't think the cards are necessary to read the book.  I think it's just collectible trading cards.

After posting I would pming the receiver to say "no cards" with book.

From Help Center

Books with accompanying media (the accompanying media must be included with the book)

Books that originally came with non-media items, if the non-media materials are NOT REQUIRED for the book to be useful.  The non-media items do not have to be included to be postable here.

The paperback editions of this series are not sold with the cards.  The book can be read without them.

My son is currently reading this series. I get them for him from the library and none have the cards. He has never even seen the cards and had no problem reading the series.
