So I am a little slow. People have been talking about AAR and AAR's list for ages now and I just now checked it out. I read through the list and was suprised at how few I have read (about 20% with 22 of the list read). I might own more then what I think but I know for certain I have 43 more of those books here at home in my massive TBR.

Just out of curiosity, how many have you read? How many are in your TBR? What was your absolute favorite?

Mine was Saving Grace by Julie Garwood.

Last time I checked, I read 69% percent. If I recall correctly, I had read 68% of the 2004 List. I will always be somewhere in that percentage because I dont read contemps anymore. I have read every historical on the list except WHERE DREAMS BEGIN and VENETIA.

there are lots of great romances on the list and some I think are overrated. My personal absolute favoite would be either THUNDER & ROSES or AS YOU DESIRE.

Dumb question, what is the AAR?

Saving Grace is one of my favorite JG books.

I've read 60 books out of the 100 and have 2 in my TBR pile. I won't get all 100 read. I tried the first book in JR Ward's BDB series and just couldn't get into it(there are 3 on the list).  I just can't get into vampire romances. I also don't know if I'll ever be ambitious enough to attempt Diana Gabaldon's books and they're on the list too.

I can't pick one favorite from the list. I enjoyed several: Bet Me by Crusie, Dreaming of You by Kleypas, The Born IN... books by Roberts, etc, etc...

I've apparently read only 27 on that list.    That's actually the first time I've read that entire list.  I don't think I'll get around to finishing it up.

Hmmm, I've never read most of the authors on that list.  Only read 3 of the books.  Haven't even heard of most of those authors.  Not a very comprehensive list.

I've read 45 of them with about 15 more being on my TBR pile.  I never have used that list to buy books from even though there are a lot of great books on there; I have used this one from TRR more than once though: http://www.theromancereader.com/top100.html

I've read 41 on AAR's list. I have 5 on my tbr and my absolute favorite? A toss up between Devil'sCub and Outlander- I've reread both many times!

eta- I've only read 18 on the TRR list. Wow, I need to step it up!

I read 69 on AAR list and 67 on the TRR list. It's all the same except that the TRR is a much older list ,it looks like. Also the number of ties indicate that it was polled from a small sample.

I'm working my way through the list.  I've read probably about 20 of them, but I have quite a few more in my TBR and on my reminder list.

I have read 52 off of the TRR list which I started using as a reference years ago.  If you have read Nora Roberts or Linda Howard, it covers a lot.  I do enjoy both authors now and again.

I think the AAR list is more up to date, and based on reader polls, rather than site reviews.  Guess it's all good though since I've read and/or have most of them:P  Another good list from TRR that I use when I'm at the UBS:  http://www.theromancereader.com/5heart.html

It has links to the reviews in there, which I like having easy access to.

I loved looking over the one Kim sent too. It seems that many are on both lists but I have only read 13 or the ones on the TRR and have 44 more in my TBR. I am surprised that I call myself a Nora Roberts fan but have not read several on both lists. I think the Born in trilogy was listed on both maybe not all three books were listed though. I can't remember.
