Hi,

I'm interested in hearing from anyone that's used the ACE (School of Tomorrow) Kindergarten program.  My daughter is four and I'm considering using the program with her.  A friend is using the ACE 1st grade and loves it.  Would anyone happen to own the Kindergarten Manuals... kit?

Thanks!

Dawn

I did ACE curriculum when I was in junior high, so I'm only speaking from that experience, but the workbook method leaves a lot to be desired. If you can add interesting things to the mix and lots of hands on activities I think it can work, but honestly, I hated it. I read and filled in the blanks for three years of my life. If that doesn't kill a love of learning, I don't know what will.

Perhaps, ACE Kindergarten is not like that, so take what you want and throw the rest away. I share my experience in hope of helping children have living curriculum. You can use whatever you want, but put yourself into it. :)

Peace to you,

Renae

Thanks Reanae.  I like to hear from one's that have used the curriculum.   Some have been well pleased, others not.  (especially in upper grade levels)    Guess it's like you suggested - depends on what you put into it.

I was in an ACE school my whole life and frankly I was ill prepared for a college atmosphere.  Lucky for me i was incredibly self motivated.  I think it works okay in the early grades but its effectiveness seriously diminishes once you get passed about 3rd grade (IMO).  I can tell you that the sentence diagramming that my kids are learning in a traditional Christian school setting is nothing like what I tried to teach myself with ACE.  And forget about Science and Geography.  I am ridiculously Geographically challenged, and the History was pretty sketchy too.  These are just my opinions from being subjected to this curriculum for K-12, so take it for what it is worth.
