To me, as a counselor,  this book by Donna Crooner, "Skinny", sounds frightening.  The description I read of the book shows the story personifying the horrible self-talk that many girls with eating disorders suffer with, giving it much more power and making it almost a "thing" that possesses the girl who is the main character.

Please, someone who has read the book, let me know what you think of it................

I just finished Skinny a couple days ago.  Here's my review: http://pandareads.blogspot.com/2013/01/skinny.html?showComment=1357354247675

The self-talk seemed realistic to me and the main character, Ever, does make it out to be a thing.  I wouldn't say it possesses her (it doesn't tell her what to do or say) but it is a huge part of her daily life in the beginning of the book.

The overall message is positive, though, I gave it five stars and I recommend it.

Thanks, Sandra!  It's funny that I randomly came to this forum today as I rarely leave the CMT and RAOK forums cause I just don't get responses in the the other ones.
