Why won't PBS come up with a way for us to get a credit faster when mailing to APO addresses?if we are willing there has to be a way.If its under 13 ounces I mail first class anyway so it goes by plane. But if over that its by boat and you can forget that.I mailed a book out on May 6th and its still a waiting game.It can be checked that it was accepted at my post office.I hate to refuse our military people but I need my credits same as anyone else. And the books I send them are not old they are the newer ones of series thats sometimes have hundreds of Wl's.I just try to help out in my own way to bring a little joy to our Women(so far my requests!)in the military.Get with the program PBS and help us help our Military!

Hi Darlene,

There is a way to get credit faster -- use PBS-DC or Postage.

Excerpt from Help Docs below:

Thanks for supporting our members of the military!

This request was submitted to be sent to a US government/military address outside the USA. Postage will cost the same as within the USA. Packages sent to these addresses sometimes take longer than usual in transit, but if you use PBS-DC or PBS Printed Postage, you will receive credit for sending the book before the book reaches its destination.

PBS-DC is also great if you mail to Alaska or Hawaii. You get your credit as soon as it scans at the post office. I highly recommend it if you need or worry about receiving the credits.

I just weigh the book package and print the PBS label as usual. It doesn't cost extra to mail to a APO address. Then I fill out the white customs form online and take it to the Post Office with the wrapped book. The package does have to be presented to an USPS employee, not dropped in a blue box. They will put the form in a clear plastic bag and attach it to the back of the package.

I always mail to APO's and just print label with DC. Let the post office put the postage on it .  My clerk gave me a bunch of the white forms to fill out at home so I don't have to take extra time and hold people up at the post office.
