I found a link for requesting an ARC for Devil's Brood by Sharon Kay Penman and wanted to share it with you all.  Click here to request it.

I got it! I got it! I got it! I just got an ARC of Devil's Brood from this website! Has anyone else received their copy?

Thank you, Meliisa, for letting us know about this! Yip-pee!

I'm jealous.  Did you get an email telling you it was coming or did it just show up?

Nope, didn't get an email. It just appeared today, and I was very excited to find it because I'd already forgotten about it.

Valli, I'd be interesting in trading another ARC title for Devils Brood when you're finished , if you are interested. I have five or six 2008 titles.

I got an email stating they were all out and they sent a link to a sneak peek of the prologue, but it doesn't work :(

Do you have to be with a company, or can you just be an individual, and still order it?  I'd love a copy!

(....shoot, I got so excited I didn't bother to read previous posts....so they're all gone already?  Meh. )

Maybe whoever has the ARC can pass it around among us?  (here's hoping)  :-)

I don't know if you have to be with a company or not. I put in the name of my husband's construction company, and I still got the ARC.

I actually promised my copy to someone the day I got it, but I'm going to see if it can be passed on after it's read. I'll let you guys know. Maybe we can get a book ring set up with the ARC's some of us get. That would be great!

I got one too!  That answers the question of what I'm going to read next.

I gave them a PO Box and an unidentified e-mail address, so I'm thinking it was an honest giveaway. God bless Penguin Books!

Valli, I like your idea of an ARC circle. Do you think we could get enough of them to make it work?

My copy came in the mail today.  I literally did a happy dance!

My 14 yr old DS was not impressed-- he said, "Mom , you are a freak.  It's a book.  You already have a thousand."  Youth is wasted on the young, as they say.....

LOL Lisa! My son says those exact words to me every time I get excited about a book!

Genie, I think we could do it even if we only use our two copies. It might take a bit longer for everyone to get it, but they'd get it eventually. Maybe we should find out who'd want to be a part of the ring?

So, who would want to be a part of "The Devil's Brood Book Ring"? Post here!

Valli, If no one responds, you might want to try making it a new thread. Anyhoo, I'm in.

Count me in for a book ring!

I need to re-read "When Christ and his Saints Slept" and read "Time in Chance" first. I was saving "Time ..." until the trilogy was finished.

I'm so glad to hear that some of you were able to snag this one!  I actually didn't request it as I am buried in reveiw books, and haven't read the earlier books either.

Just a note, for those who asked about company name, most of us that do reviews will post them on our blogs, LibraryThing or Amazon.  I usually use my blog name for company and get a fair amount of reveiw copies.  I know some others just put in LT.

I got my copy today!  I'm so excited.  OK, here's the question - I haven't read the first 2 (they're on my list) will  that matter?

I read half of When Christ and His Saints Slept. I couldn't get into it, which may just have been my mood, because I really like SKP's HF. I haven't read Time and Chance yet, though I'll get to it. I'm reading Devil's Brood now.

Although many of the characters appear throughout the trilogy, if you have a decent handle on the history and know who's who (or can figure it out in context), then I don't think you have to read them in order.

I agree, I got Time and Chance before I realized it was number two of a trilogy and read (and loved it) before getting When Christ...

I'd say that it's probably necessary to read the books in order if you don't know a whole lot about the time period. She does such a great job with each book and they really can "stand alone", especially if you are familiar with the history.

I'm probably the one Sharon Kay Penman reader who loved When Christ and the Saints Slept more than The Sunne in Splendour or any of her other novels. I loved it!

I think my favorite is Time and Chance, followed closely by Here be Dragons.

But, then, I adore Eleanor of Aquitaine, so I am quite biased.
