I've got two hardback books in pristine condition.  I haven't read them yet.

My silly question is if it doesn't say ARC anywhere, the front or back or inside could it be?  The reason I'm asking is the books don't have a price on the dust jackets.  They're both Avalon Mystery books if anyone has heard of them.  They do have a web site.

I just wondered if after I read the books if I'll be able to post them since there's no price on them.  I can find them on Amazon and they are listed as Avalon Mysteries.  I also did a search here for what it's worth and the book does come up with the same dust jacket but if I understand others that doesn't mean anything when it comes to an ARC.

Any help is appreciated.

ARCs are usually paperback, and will say somewhere on there that they are ARCs or something similar. If it doesn't say it's an ARC, it probably isn't an ARC.

I'd be extremely surprised if what you have are ARCs. I say post them.

Book club editions often don't have prices on them. Perhaps that is what you have?

Hmmm, never thought about book club editions.  I suppose they could be.  I don't think I've ever seen one.  Up until joining PBS I was almost exclusively buying my books at Amazon.  Before that new books from the bookstores or whereever books could be found.

ARC's will say somewhere on the book that its an ARC or proof or whatever.  If it doesn't say so, then its not one.  Probably a Book Club edition like mentioned above.

Book Club Editons are usually smaller (width and height) than the regular Hard Cover. Though without both, you will not be able to compare.

ARCs are usually soft covers, and usually have the same ISBN as the Hard Cover. That way the publisher can send them to reviewers for less $.

Geri, I'm pretty sure they are Book Club Editions. Type in the ISBN at alibris.com and it will probably confirm that for you. The BCE that I have also didn't pull up the ISBN on Amazon.com, or have a price anywhere on it.

I checked the books on alibris.com, thanks Jennifer.

I may not post these books here.  Alibris has an excellant copy for sale for $92.21.  Maybe I'll sell them instead.  Fer sur thanks Jennifer!!!

And, they're not book club editions though they are a bit smaller than other hard covers I've had.
