Hi all, How does one know that they have an ARC. I have looked for the answer myself in the FAQ's and the archives here in the forum, but when the search results came back with 1170 messages...I don't have that long to search for the answer. I don't think I have one as of yet, but for future referrence, it would be nice to know as I am going to garage sales and what not. Thank you Kellie |

Hi Kellie, An ARC will be marked as such in some way...Advanced Reader Copy or Uncorrected Proof. I haven't seen a lot of them, but the ones I have seen were, mostly, pretty clearly marked and hard to miss. I did have one that almost slipped past me because of the shading of the cover and the way the words Advanced Reader Copy were shaded as well. Even so, I caught it while wrapping and I wasn't even looking for it. (I never even heard of an ARC before PBS). If you are actually watching for it, I think it would be really hard to miss. :-) Beth

It will also say somewhere (usually on the back cover where you'd expect a price to be printed) "Not for Resale" or something like that. Also, they are paperbacks...I've never seen a hardback ARC. |

Thank you Beth and Natasha, I had never heard of an ARC either, however I do have a movie that was a VHS's version of this, so it make sense that it exsists. The movies you have to watch to know that you have a copy, so I didn't know how easily an ARC would be to spot. Kellie |

Usually it will say something like Advance Readers Copy, NOT FOR SALE. It's always been obvious on the ones I have. |
