I currently have my acct on hold due to all my books being in storage. I just added a couple of books to my wishlist. I intended to put them on AR, but there was no button available to do so. I have quite a few books on AR and would like to receive some of them. I looked through the help docs, but am still unclear on how to do this without taking my acct off hold. Can I even do this? I don't want to receive any request for my books. They are in storage in another state. I can not access them at this time. However, I would like to continue receiving the books on my WL as they come available.

Thanks for any help with this.

Pam

I was told you have to take your account off hold for any changes to your WL to take hold. So if you want to change books to auto request, you'd need to unhold your account, change them to AR, and then put your account back on hold. That's what I've done. I can't say if it works since none of those books have come available yet, but I assume that it will.

Do you think any of your books would get requested automatically if you take it off hold? You could always put those books on individual hold to make the changes (that will move you to the back of the FIFO line if you do it, though).

You don't need to take your account off of Vacation Hold to make changes to your Wish List. If you have the default to add books with Auto-Request on, they will already be AR. If they are not, you can check the box on the left side of them and click the Auto-Request On button at the upper right of your Wish List were all the buttons are.

A new caveat is added since the changes to the Profile - you can't do it from there, that is a read-only type listing. You need to go the the My Lists->Wish List to make changes to your Wish List.

You don't have to come off hold.  I'm on vacation because of an upcoming move. But I put a few WL books on auto because I was #1 and wanted to give another week of getting offered them before I also put them on hold.  I came on to find 1 of those enroute to me this morning.  I never came off vacation hold.  They'll still say On Hold until you get to #1.  No one can post a WL directly to you while you are on vacation unless you are #1.  You are still moving up the line and once you get to #1 it'll autorequest them if posted.

Thanks for the info. I'll try Melanie's suggestions. Thanks again to all.

Weird. I asked a similar question to this awhile ago and was told I had to come off hold for the changes to take affect. Guess I've been going on and off vacation hold for no reason!

Yeah, maybe. I'm pretty bad with time so it could have been a couple months ago. I was off vacation hold a few weeks before going back on, so it probably was around May I asked about it.
