I was unable to finish this book. I thought the book was porrly written (of the 150 pages I actually read) and the amateur murder investigator didn't grab me as a character in a serial murder whodunit.

New detective, Anna Travis, shows great talent when she successfully tracks down a serial killer - and finds the evidence to convict him. A likable heroine, and a very complex evil villain - a combination I always enjoy.
This was an excellent read if a tad gruesome. Loved D.C. Langton and Anna Travis.
This is a new to me author in print, although I'm familiar with her work because of her excellent Prime Suspect and Trial and Retribution British TV series. This first book in the Anna Travis series is as taut, well plotted and well written as her TV work. I've already started book two and pleased to have added La Plante to my growing list of favorite British authors.
This book starts out at a good clip and really never lets up. This is the first book featuring Anna Travis, a rookie detective on her first murder case. I will definitely read more.
