Have very good books used in classes but have underlining on some pages. Is that acceptable?

Nope, no underlining, sorry!!  If they are textbooks they are postable by site rules, but you must PM first and ensure the requestor will accept them... so IMHO you are better off trading or getting rid of them elsewhere.

Yes, what Patricia said.  Textbooks and cookbooks may have writing/underlining on text pages, but you have to receive the requestor's okay before you mail.  Other books may not having writing or underlining.  You can offer them as freebies in the book bazaar, or as incentives (order a book from my shelf and get this unpostable book for free).
