There is a book that I requested on 8/10/2007.  The Status has been "Accepted" for several days now. There is no indication of when the book is going to be mailed. How long can this go on before my request gets shifted to another person with this book? I am getting frustrated.  Thanks.

I believe they have 5 days starting at the end of the first day it was requested.  So the 5 days would start at 12:00 AM on 8/11/2007.  If it is not marked sent by 12 AM on 8/16/2007, then it will move on to the next person or if there are no other copies, it will be put back on your wishlist.

Have you Pm'ed the person concerning it?  Waiting can get frustrating, just think though you w are getting a book you want fairly cheap.  Makes the anticipation of reading it that much sweeter lol.

Hope you get your book soon :-)

Anthony is correct. Do not cancel the book and order it from someone else because you may then get 2 books (if the first person forgot to click "mailed this book",  and indeed mailed it).  Let the system work because they will time out the first one after five days and the next in line will get your request.  If you do get two books, you're under no obligation to mark the first request received or it will cost you 2 credits.

The requestor cannot cancel if the first person has printed the address. Only the sender or the system timeout can cancel a transaction at that point.

I thought that if you marked that you could mail it the same day, that it showed up on the other side as "accepted" and that they had two days to mail it?

*confused*

Accepted means they have accepted.

Accepted-PRINTED means they will mail in 2 days.

Will mail by (date) means they will mail by that day.

For the second two, I think the sender gets 2 extra days after that date to mark the book mailed.

Likely, that copy is probably first in the FIFO. If you cancel now (you can cancel until the "cancel order" button disappears) you will likely just get in line with the same person again. I'd just wait and let the system roll you to another copy at this point.

Sigh. It still says "Accepted" and nothing else.

No.

Accepted means they clicked "I can mail in 2 days"

Will Mail By: means they chose "I can mail later" and chose a later mailby date.

Well, the book is now on its way, so I am glad I did not cancel.
