I accepted a book then noticed the book middle section has pages that have been wet...

I tried to go back and say there was sender damage to the book but it's not letting me...

What can I do?

This has happened to me as well, Lisa!  It is a painful lesson to make us be sure to check very closely before accepting.  It's happened to me 3 times.  Always hidden problems to WL books!  There is nothing you can do officially.  You can let the sender know what is wrong and that he/she should not let it happen again.  You can ask (but probably not receive) your credit back.   Nothing to be done really.  It's hard on us!

Yep, I learned that lesson the hard way too.

My opinion..you DID accept the book..can't really do much about that now, BUT perhaps send a very POLITE PM to the person explaining you had just noticed the center pages and you could totally understand how she have over-looked it also.  I would say she may offer to refund your credit...I know I would...as long as I wasn't getting a rude PM.

I had this happen once also, and it was the first book I ever recieved from here (the time traveler's wife).  I didn't notice it until a few months later when I was going to go finally read it, I noticed someone had underlined a few of the book club questions in the back.

I don't know as I'd consider the book club questions to be "within the text" as far as markings go.

I have to agree with the underlining of questions.  I wouldn't be offended to get one with only that underlining, but I do strictly adhere to the rules because I'm sure that if anyone would complain - it would be to me if no one else!

I had that happen too, lesson learned, I look through every book now before I hit received.

It just happened to me - I unwrapped the book from the plastic wrap and the back pages have water damage.  I usually check but it must've been an "off" day when I received it.

Suzy, that's exactly what happened with me...  I finished answering the questions and then pulled the plastic wrap off and saw the water damage.... Just an off day for me since I usually check the book out before chcking received...

Second damaged book in a month last one was badly damaged in the mail.

Happened to me once as well.  I received a book, it looked fine, but when went to read it, noticed that the first 20 pages were missing.  The way the book was illustrated and such, I can see how it went unnoticed by both myself and the sender on the initial look through.  My guess was that the sender had found it in a thrift store, recogized it as a book that would be WLd, so she grabbed it.  I sent that in the PM to her and that's exactly what had happened.  She was kind enough to return my credit.
