From what I understand the Book Bazaar is the forum that will remain open to all.

I guess I misunderstood this.  Now it appears a la carte members can't post to any forum.

Can you just sell them now before the 15th?

Christina - I sold what I could this month. I have a couple of email addresses of persons interested to contact in March if I am still able to gift credits with the A la carte option.

Christina, why don't you just leave everything as-is for now?  You will just be an a la carte member - if you are concerned about PBS closing your account, then go to Contact Us now and ask them about it.  If they know that you don't want to close, I'm sure they'll work with you.  Also, you could check this Post in the Book Bazaar forum  http://www.paperbackswap.com/Want-Buy-Gift-Membership-Return/topic/300293/ to find someone who will buy a gift membership for you in return for credits.  At least worth thinking about ...

eta:  This forum will still be available for A La Carte members to read AND post.

My apologies for posting incorrect info. (at least at this time it's incorrect) -- and adding to the confusion and angst.  Maybe there will be some adjustment made to this forum - I hope.

Christina, there's now a thread in the Book Bazzar where you can exchange credits for a membership.  The person you give credits to buys you a membership.  A great option for people that are credit rich but money poor.  If you exchange some credits now for a year membership, you can hold off until credit prices go back up if you really want to sell off your remaining credits.

Access to this forum does not help with future needs to sell credits. You need book bazaar access to do that.

Why can't you sell credits on the Goodreads group?

If you have been an active trader on the sister sites (search give and transfer in the help section for details), then you can sell your credits in those forums now or later.

AFAIK, and from everything I've read, the only changes for the A La Carte members (other than the 49cent per order fee) is no access to forums.  Forums take a tremendous amount of band width, so are of higher cost to the site.  Also, several of the TGs (after a conference on the changes) have stated that the Questions About PBS forum will remain open to the public just as it always has been, and CMT has always been Members Only.

Apologies - this part of the statement is NOT CORRECT.
