I currently have my account on hold just because I don't want to deal with going to the post office during the holiday rush, but while it has been on hold, I have been posting books. My question is: do those books enter the FIFO line when they are posted, or when my account goes off hold? Just curious since I have never put my account on hold except when I am out of town.

I would think they would go in order as to when you posted them. I will be watching this post because I would also like to know the answer.  My shelf is also on hold and I have posted about 150 books.

PBS actually works by date. Your positions in WL and FIFO "lines" are just a result of selecting records from a database and then sorting them by date. Your My Bookshelf page shows the date you posted the book. That's the date you got in line.

If your account is on hold and you post a book, you do get a Posted date that matches the date you entered the ISBN. While nobody knows for sure except the PBS programmers, that should mean that your book is moving towards the front of the line as soon as you've posted it. (Speaking as a software developer, it's just needlessly complex to do anything else.)

If you put a book from your bookshelf on individual hold and then repost it, the Posted date changes, indicating that you stepped out of line and started over again at the back.

I have had my shelf on hold a few times. While on hold I have posted books and when I released the hold, they all showed on the dates that I posted them. I wondered before too what would happen and was pleasantly surprised.
