I have a wish list book I ordered with the automatic format. Here is my problem. The person who has the book hasn't confirmed the order yet. So I went to check out her bookshelf and it is on hold. Does that mean she isn't going to mail me the book? While I wait for her response other people will be getting  the book I was supposed to. Just wondering if anyone knows how this works.

Thanks

glo

Some people (like me) go on hold to control postage costs.  I post WL books, go off hold to get them offered to the 1st wisher and then go back on hold to prevent any other shelf orders.  Many PBSers can only afford a certain amount of postage each month and this is a good way to control costs.

No one else can get the Wisk List book as long as it is on your My Account page. Many people who keep their shelves on Vacation Hold because of budget constraints or whatever will unhold their account just long enough to post a Wish List book, then put the Vacation Hold back on to ensure they don't get any other requests from the FIFO system.

It is possible they put their shelf on hold without realizing that they has posted a Wish List book, but at this point I wouldn't worry about it.  Their Hold status shouldn't have any effect on your Wish List book.
