I belong to Doubleday and Rhapsody Book Clubs and they are taking advance orders for Acheron finally!!  I know you can get the paperback for Lover Enshrined, but I collect all HC/DJ for my personal collection.   It seems that if you want to get the HC for some books that you have to go thru a Bookclub or wait forever.  I just order or pre-order as they are announced and then I don't have to wait or search for my keepers.

Reading:  Sexy Beast IV by Kate Douglas

Just finished re-reading:  Kill & Tell by Linda Howard (this is one of her best and I re-read often-----love the characters)

Acheron HC has been available for pre-order on amazon for a while now.  I'm not sure if I should pre-order it or just get it from Wally World, which is what I usually do.

I pre ordered from Wal-Mart (Archeron)--it was about $13 and a couple bucks S&H.  I work at a WM so I'm having it delivered to the store so there's no chance it will get damaged or stolen from my mailbox.

Thanks for that info, Donna.  That's cheaper than amazon's price, but I get free 2-day shipping with amazon so that might make the prices a bit more  equal.  Wonder if that will be the price WM sells it for when it hits the shelves...

I probably will just go out and buy Acheron. The one time I pre-ordered from Amazon, I didn't get the book until 3 weeks later. By that time, I just went out and bought it.

I've only pre-ordered from amazon once, and it arrived the date they said it would and in a timely fashion. It was a book that would not be available to buy at Wal-Mart, so it was cheaper for me to order it from amazon than buy it at a bookstore.

I personally don't like Amazon and prefer Overstock.  Overstock will ship the book when it arrives in their warehouse even if it is before the release date!   The only time that I shop Amazon is for used books.  Sometimes you can get a book that has been pre-read and looks new for a really great price.

I have only used Amazon for buying used books. That was the first time I had pre-ordered from them.I haven't tried Overstock, I'll have to check them out.

I was just on SLK web site and looked at her Schedule.  She will be at Borders in Oakbrook, Il. on 8-6-08!!  Just thought I'd let all my Illinois neighbors know.  I'm "wanting" to go, but I usually work and will probably be asleep.  Work midnights and that is a day I work---BUMMER.
