I'm trying to print out a mailing label. I know the address is correct. But the Delivery Confirmation system tells me it can't confirm the address. Is there a place here or at USPS to enter the address and find a close spelling, or abbreviation or whatever that it WILL accept?

I remember having to go though this with my own address when registering here. I had to add on some convoluted apartment spelling in order for the system to recognise the address.

If the address is someone you are sending a book to, you might want to PM them and see if they can fix it. I don't think you can change someone else's address.

There is an address verifier at the USPS site.  Let me see if I can get a link for you...

 Here's the link:  http://www.usps.com/zip4/welcome.htm

Thanks Bernard, I was looking all over for it. I just had a mailing label that I wanted rpinted out with DC. Since I had extra PBS money, I thought I could print it here. As it turns out, even the addresses that come up on the USPS link you gave still aren't recognised by the PBS system. :-( I finally had to go to PayPal & print up a label.

You're welcome Eve.  Odd that the PBS system won't take it though.

Were you using the In Care Of line? I know I have had problems with symbols or punctuation entered in that line in the past.

I did have something in the C/O line. But, I just went to check again by taking it out, and it still didn't go through. :-(
