I have the daughters of a lady I work with I was going to request some book sent to them.  I made sure I had the correct addres from their mom. She gives the address, then tells me you need to put 30 South on it as well.  Well, I get a pop up screen saying that the address can't be validated. I have sent books to Bridgett, the mom before with out a problem, but without the 30 south on it. Bridgett says it HAS to be on the package or her mailman, THE A** won't/can't deliver it.  What to do?   Apparently, you need to put the 30 south on the line under the address, but there isn't room on the form.  I have  thought of putting the address w/o the 30 South then PMing the person and having them put the 30 Soth on it on their end.  Any bright ideas?  these kids are like grandchildren to me and all kids like getting packages in the mail>

Can you put it in the C/O line?

My aunt has a wierd address and the 30 South is written like this:  (in her case it's some sort of direction, maybe your friend's is an apartment or something?

   Ange's Aunt

   123 Main Blvd 30S

   City, State ZIP

You can also look up the USPS correct address here  http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp

Go to www.usps.com and click Find a ZIP Code. Play with the address in different formats there. Often the results you get back for an invalid address will give you a clue as to what you have to put in to get the validated one. Once you know the validated address, that will be the one you can use here.

I actually  thought of doing that,Cozette.  Great minds  think alike. When I go to the find the zip code link, it comes back with the 30 south on the line under the address....but when I try that ordering a book, the pop up screen says the address isn't validated.

Did you copy the entire address from the USPS +4 zip page exactly as they have it? Is there another part that is different?

OR is this a fairly new mobile home park? If so, it may not be in the database that is being used to validate the addresses. Which means you cannot send it with DC, nor PBS postage for that matter. I don't know how often PBS updates their addresses with the USPS, but my guess is atleast quarterly, and probably monthly with the influx of new members they receive, but with DC it should be now going thru Endicia, which is surely updated more often than monthly with their membership size. Try again in a couple days, and see if it works, otherwise, you will have to print the wrapper without postage or DC.

I have ordered books for her, but 6 months ago,I didn't have to use the 30 south and she got it fine.....I might try with one book try thr address w/o the 30 south, them PM the person and have them add it. Not perfect, but I hope it will work.
