Search - The Adopted One: An Open Family Book for Parents and Children Together

This book is horrible. The little adopted boy gets angry at his father and yells, "You aren't my real parents." The father yells back, "You aren't our real child either." As a birhmother and adoptive mother, I was angry. If anyone ever says anything like that to my adopted children, they will not hear the end of it. This is an older book, 1979, but that is awful.
