This was one of the best books in this series so far. Zipporah was not just a cookie cutter charachter, she was interesting, and had a sense of depth. This book spans a great deal of her life, and doesn't end up exactly how you think it will. Read "Will you love me in September" first, and "Knave of Hearts" afterward

All the Philippa Carr books follow the women of one family. Each book is a different generation, and though the characters are fictional, the backdrop and events they experience are historical.

These books are my favorites of all the Victoria Holt titless
