I recommend this book!

If you don't already have a plan in place for your aging parents, then this book is a great start to getting things together before you are blindsided and run around in a state of panic.

The book's title says "a simple handbook" and it is just that. Most books on aging seem to be four inches thick and really, who has time to sit down and read a 400 page book in the middle of a crisis??? Hillary Abrams breaks it all down for you with her checklists, evaluation forms and worksheets in a 55 page, easy to navigate book.

I have aging parents and this helped me understand the questions I should be asking them like: What medications are you taking? Who are your doctors? Tell me about your finances and expenses? Where do you keep the safety deposit key? Where is your will? Where do you keep _____? This book also includes evaluation forms to assist when choosing an assisted living facility and what to look for and what questions to ask. Ms. Abrams also addresses things like how to talk to your parents about taking away their car keys and even information regarding Hospice and medical services, which I didn't even know Medicare covered! This book is wonderful.
