I just realized that I have 20 items on my WL over a year old. And I'm first for a bunch! One of one, even!

But I have gotten a lot of other things, some added the same day. Can't complain. Just thought I'd share my astonishment. A whole year!  And I've been 1/1 the entire time for a couple.

You're not alone, Deb.  I tend to wish for obscure items and will sit 1/1 for ages.  But sometimes even those oddball wishes come through.  Good luck!  :->

Yep, I'm the same way. Some books have been sitting on my WL for over a year and others pop up the day after I request them. :) Some books are just not moving through alot I guess. Good luck on getting yours! :)

You could check to see if you accidentally put some books with a pbs-generated fake ISBN on your wishlist.  You'll never receive those.  They're a one-time listing (usually 4 to 6 digits) when  a book is posted without an ISBN.  They are basically useful until someone requests the posted book.  When the requestor reads and then reposts the book, it won't have the same itty-bitty fake ISBN, so there's no point wishlisting it.

Good point, Patty!  I do that occasionally (I've found that searching by author name is the easiest way to do it for me for some reason) and I've fulfilled some of my wishes from books in the system.

Yep.  I swear sometimes MY WL is on hold.  It's not, but I have to check from time to time.  LOL!!

I swear mine is on hold too. There's a handful of books that have been on my wishlist since right after I joined and a few more that passed the one-year mark this summer. It was actually a bit depressing to look at the date added, to see that I'm #1 for most of them and to realize just how long they've sat there. Granted, a couple of them are obscure titles, but others aren't. They must just be keeper books that rarely, if ever, get posted.

I wandered through all of your wishlists, but unfortunately I don't have any of the books any of you are looking for.  I'll try to keep an eye out though when shopping at the library bookshop and Goodwill.

Patty, I did notice a few of those non-ISBNs a while ago, but they're long gone. Thanks for mentioning it, though.

I just get frustrated when I see people post that they went to a garage sale and only picked up items they know are reasonably popular. I know you can't buy *everything*, but I just picture them looking at the books on my wishlist and saying to themselves "oh, no one would want *that*, I'm not going to bother." Whimper.

Then again, I have a major advantage in posting stuff - I work at the library. I scan in the ISBNs of everything we're about to add to the sale cart, and then only buy the ones on wish lists (which should explain how I can have as many items in transit as in inventory).
