I was pleasantly surprised by this book, which is quite a departure from Eoin Colfer's usual style of book. The story was really good, in my opinion, and the subject fascinating. I don't generally read historical fiction, but when it is presented so well, one can hardly help but enjoy it. I'd give this book 4 stars, if not five. Recommended!

This is a FANTASTIC story!! My son read the book and then insisted that we listen to it in audio format. I loved it! The Artemis Fowl series was great and this is of the same calibre. The author does NOT disappoint. Follow Connor's story from the moment of his birth through the good and bad times of his life. You will love the characters. HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED! :)
