Well written short and scholarly account of one of the greatest abominations in Western history, the war against the gnostic Cathars in Provence and Southern France during the 13th Century. An entire language and cultural tradition was eliminated from the face of the Earth to satisfy the avarice and desire for power of the Pope and his minions. Shows the price we in the West payed for the idea of Roman primacy and cultural unification.
