Just received a WL book and was disappointed to see it had a drop of what looks like dark chocolate milk on the page edges (or maybe chocolate drool??). Otherwise the book looks brand new.  So I decided I would try a 'fix' that I had seen recommended here.......I sanded the edges and voila! the spot is gone and no apparent damage to the book.  Yay!  I can repost when I'm done.

Jeanne, can you explain that process? It's on the edges so you sand the side of the book? If it's on a page, you open it and sand softly? Or does it only work on the end?

I've tried to sand the surface of a page and it didn't work for me, it tore up the paper, but I've done page edges multiple times and that works great.

Yes, edges only for sanding. Sometimes an eraser will work on a small, light page stain, but don't be too aggressive...
