Riveting and scary to think that such manipulation could actually take place. Had a hard time putting it down.

Loved the characters! This was the first Lisa Gardner book I read, I will read more! It kept me in suspense the entire time! I liked the Bobby Dodge character the most. I recently started watching a tv show with similiar characters. I couldn't imagine going though what he went through, but I guess that is the perks of the job.

Good story line that kept me interested and wanting to find out how Bobby Dodge, a police sniper would be able to avoid being blamed for a shotting that saves the lives of a women and her child. Great plot up to the end that leaves you wondering who was really at fault.

Second book I've read by Gardner and not a disappointment at all. She is a great author and I have become a big fan after just two books.
I read mostly for entertainment and this is the first book by Lisa Gardner I have read, but must say I enjoyed it very much. Actually purchased it for my new gift, a Kindle, because it was inexpensive, but was so pleased must read more of her books. Hope the next one is as enjoyable.
This was the first book I've read by this author and I really liked it. Very exciting, kept me guessing through the whole thing. I'm anxious to read more by Lisa Gardner.
Lisa Gardener is fantastic. Bobby Dodge is a well thought out, believable character. This is an excellent read.
Honestly, this was the first Lisa Gardner book I have read and it shall certainly be the last. More clichés than you could throw a stick at. Read John Sandford, Robert Crais, Laura Lippman and/or Michael Connelly instead. This book was pure cheese.
Incredibly suspenseful and a bit graphic at times, Alone made me squirm, but I tore through the pages because it is a really great story.
This was my first time reading a book by Lisa Gardner. I was pleased that I liked it so much. There were some nice twists and turns in it, although part of it reminded me of my own past traumatic experience which made it hard for me to continue on with the book. I am gald that I did though. Lisa Gardner is definitly an author that I will be looking for in the future.
Terrific read keeps you on the edge of your seat. Unusual ending. I loved it.
good and intresting read, book in new and in good condition.
Loved it.
Lisa keeps me gripping my pillow.
A killer stalks people and he knows exactly when to do it. This is an edge-of-your-seat book!
From the New York Times bestselling author of THE KILLING HOUR and THE PERFECT HUSBAND comes a brilliant new novel of seduction, deceit, and revenge that will leave readers breathless and defenseless because the killer who stalks these pages knows just when to strike...
It's where you're most vulnerable...It's where there's no one to hear you cry for help...It's the last place you want to be when this killer comes...
ALONE.

GREAT QUICK READ
Another great read by Lisa Gardner
I really enjoyed this book.
Bobby Dodge, member of the elite STOP team in Boston, MA, which deals with dangerous police situations, has just completed a grim task: as a sniper he has ended the life of a husband Jimmy Gagnon, who seemingly was on the verge of harming either his wife Catherine or his son Nathan. And to add to Bobby's distress at having to kill another man, he is immediately attacked by Jimmy's father, Judge James Gagnon, a powerful Boston personage, for acting rashly and caving in to the manipulations of Catherine.
But what is it about the past of Bobby, Catherine, and Jimmy, and even the Judge, that has led to this point? Lisa Gardner expertly combines the unfolding of traumatic disturbances in their lives with rapid fire developments in the present. Given her history, could Catherine, one with elegant, fragile beauty, orchestrate her own husband's death? Maybe Bobby knew more about the Gagnon's then he is telling - are his actions completely innocent? Why is the Judge's and his wife's past shrouded in mystery?
This is Lisa Gardner's best book, and most of her previous books were quite good. The plot is great and it moves. Yet the characters get the right amount of attention. And there are some nice twists. This latest effort by Gardner will disappoint few.
