This book is almost Jurassic Park-like. It's definitely a page turner and quite thrilling! I can't say very much without giving away the plot, but take my word for it, it's worth it for those who enjoy a fast-paced mystery.

Another good page-turner from Rollins about the nefarious genetic manipulation of DNA in animals and humans! This one reminded me a lot of some of Michael Crichton's novels such as "Next" which was also about genetic engineering and intelligent animals. I was also reminded a lot of H.G. Wells classic "Island of Dr. Moreau" - one of my Wells favorites. I really enjoyed the setting of the first part of the story in the bayous of Louisiana and would give this one a very favorable recommendation.

Yet another good story by James Rollins. What I like about Mr. Rollins, is he doesn't keep writing about just one group of characters. This book is a good example. A fresh group of characters, story line, and a great imagination fuels this story. I really enjoyed reading it, & recommend it highly to anyone who likes a good mystery/adventure. I would love to be able to write stories the way this author does!

Interesting scenario! Would recommend because it is a different type of James Rollins book and doesn't have the same characters. It kept us guessing throughout!! Enjoy!!!

This is a seriously wild ride. A little different than what I'm used to reading from Rollins but I thought it was really great.

Veterinarian and geneticist, Lorna Polk gets dragged into an investigation when a beached boat is found to contain genetically altered animals. The Border Patrol cop, Jack (who is also Lorna's high school boyfriends brother) brings Lorna in for her expertise. During the investigation of the boat, one of the animals is obviously missing and Lorna is pretty sure by the cub it left behind that it is a saber-toothed jaguar. The massive manhunt for the cat spans most of the Louisiana bayou and the local alligator farm.

This is all action from the first page right up until the last. Wait to you get to the genetically altered humans on the island. Then the fun really begins...and the tension is racheted up a few notches. Totally enjoyable story from Rollins though the possibility that this could become reality is a little freaky.

Nice action and storyline. Worth reading if you like James Rollins, however, if you are familiar with his other works do not expect anything that unusual from this book.

Action plus a little romance--pretty good but I don't know if I'll read Rollins again.

James Rollins is such animaginative writer. This book is a great mystery and an exciting read. The swamplands and Louisiana Bayou is an interesting backdrop for this entertaining chase.

A compelling page-turner! Sci-fi, terrorism, romance, all rolled into one.
