It was so hard for me to rate this book. The humor was awesome. I laughed out loud in so many places. The plot was the same as all Sand's historic novels so I have to dock points for that. And I didn't care for the two main characters and the rehashing of what the Church deemed to be proper marital bed etiquette was frustrating. Once was enough but Sands kept going back to it. I loved all the side characters though. So in the end I thought right in the middle with three stars was the best I can do. Read it for the funny scenes and dialogue. Other than that there will be no surprises down to the murder attempts: they really are all the same in her books in this genre.
