The "kiddied" up version is OK for the kiddos but the adults reading this novel will realize that there is something missing. I reccomend the adult version of this novel but this one leaves something to be desired due to the plot holes.

I loved this book and read it more than once when I was a teenager. I still have it on my shelf, 25 years later. How exciting to find that Richard Peck writes for middle school children, too (A Long Way from Chicago is fantastic)! This book has romance, mystery, the Titanic...what more can you ask for?

despite the "romantic" background theme in this book, i really enjoyed it. not bad for a truly random find (i bought a piece of furniture and it was inside). the story is very interesting, and drew me in.
