i am a bit confused. i just stumbled on to her book Second Sight. I tried to search for the other books in the series and book 2 and 3 are by someone else. does amanda quick write under other names? or did another author and her write these together?

She has 3 sort of seperate but related series going 1 as Amanda Quick (Arcane Society Historicals) 1 as Jayne Anne Krentz (Arcane Contemporary) and 1 as Jayne Castle (Harmony series futuristic but some are Arcane society descendants).

I have been readign them in order but you could read the Harmony books without spoiling any Arcane books.  Also so far the comtemporary Arcane books have not given away any spoilers for the historical ones.  So I've just been reading them in order. I would though read ahead on the historicals before I read ahead on the contemporaries.  I haven't read the last 2 contemporaries so I can't say that they wouldn't give some info on what happened in one of the historical books or not.

If you go to Fantastic Fiction and search any of her names it'll bring up her series and the order they go.

Her real name is Jayne Ann Krentz. The other two names are pen names. She does that because she writes in the three different genres -- historical, contemporary, and futuristic. None of them really give away the main stuff in any of the other books that I recall.

I recommend reading the historicals first, then the contemporaries, and then the futuristic ones. It is easier to keep track of the storylines that way! I have read them all in the order they were published and the other way, and it was easier to remember who was who when I grouped them together in order. She lists them on her web site in the order they were published (actually in reverse order, but it tells you which book is 1, which is 2, etc.).

Harmony now intersects with Arcane. If you want to read the Harmony ones, you might want to read all those in order from the start. Here's the order for those:

But they are all stand-alones, so if you can't find them all or don't want to, don't worry about it.

You're welcome. And if you only like historicals and don't want to read the others, you will have no problem following the storyline, since of course it all originates in the historical books. :)  She does a very good job of wrapping things up in each book in my opinion, so I don't think you will feel as if you are missing out if you don't read the others.
