Full of recipes from back in the day. Even if you don't want to actually cook them because of health reasons (they're full of fat-laden, cholesterol soaring yummyliciousness) it's a hoot reading the stories and commentary the authors have included along with the recipes.

This is the Sterns at their best, talking about the food that has kept them on the road hunting down classic eats for 30 years. Jeffrey Steingarten wrote: "Everything jane and Michael Stern write about food makes me want to et and laugh at the same time. They convey their discoveries with immediacy and a sense of adventure."
This book is fun - it's loaded with recipes from the 1950s and 60's and the commentary that goes with it is hysterical.
