Good book. It took me a little bit to get into it, but once I did I read it in a day. And I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but the ending is great.

This is the second in the series of crime solvers Lou Boldt, the retired-cop-turned-Mister-Mom, and Daphne Matthews, the psychologist with a past and the scars to prove it.When a series of corpses begin to turn up missing their internal organs, Daphne begins to put two and two together ------John Glover's unique interpretation of each character gives a riveting, frantic read to the story. He manages to keep you wound up with anticipation. I would get this book solely on the reader's ability to keep the tension level at such a high peak. This is a book a couple levels above your everyday, garden variety serial killers and psychos. This book can be a little graphic in its descriptions of the operations, a little more than CSI on ?TV.Pearson is too good a writer not to listen to this book.

Second book of the Lou Boldt/Daphne Matthews series. Very well written police procedural/thriller

Entertaining, although sometimes gory, tale similar to the urban legend of involuntarily harvested organs. There's some pretty good suspense, even though there's no mystery who the villain is - the author bounces back and forth between the victims, the police and the villain. Very little down time in this book - the story is constantly moving, so that makes it a pretty interesting read.

In the heart of a heartless city..She could have been any homeless, nameless young woman trying to escape Seattle's mean streets. Except the sixteen year old who stumbled into the Shelter that night was missing alot of blood, and something even more vital...Somewhere between life and death...For policewoman Daphne Matthews, it was bizarre enough to call on the best cop she knew...especially when a search turned up more mutilated corpses. For ex-homocide detective Lou Boldt, it was the kind of case he couldn't resist. And for Elden Tegg, healer, organ harvester, and homocide maniac, it was the only path to salvation...and immortality....Lurks the Angel Maker..And now, as the body count rises, two cops try one last, desparate ploy. But they'd better start praying. Because it will take a miracle to stop a killer who's about to make one final, unforgettable contribution to mankind..........
